Ronda Rousey finally opens up about losing to Holly Holm
In November, Ronda Rousey, who had previously won three recent fights in less than two minutes, was dealt a crushing defeat by Holly Holm, losing her Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight belt. She was left unconscious and had to be rushed to the hospital for recovery.
Now, the former champ is back and gearing to make a comeback, but she is saddened by the fact that she will never be addressed as an ‘undefeated champion.’ “I’m really f**king sad,” she told ESPN in a new interview.
And Rousey admits that she is still recovering from the fight. She said of her mouth injury and her unstable teeth – souvenirs from the fight, “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”
But Rousey is undeterred by the crushing loss; she is hoping to return to the gym soon to prepare for the rematch with Holm. “Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done,” she said to ESPN. “But f— it, maybe I can.”
Plus, Rousey refuses to apologise to people like Donald Trump who described her as ‘not a nice person.’
“Most people get scared away from having an opinion,” Rousey says. “It’s not so much my opinions everybody relates to, it’s that I don’t care about being punished for it.”
Well, we can’t wait to have her back.
