According to reports, Brendan Rodgers is ready to give Emre Can another shot at playing in defence after impressing when coming on at half-time against Burnley.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has struggled for first-team action since returning from his injury, but his performance against Burnley in the 1-0 win has led to suggestions that he will start against Swansea City on Monday evening.
With Rodgers plucking with playing three at the back, Can would offer plenty of passing and tackling attributes and the Liverpool boss claimed he watched the 20-year-old at centre-back for Leverkusen last season.
So far this season, Liverpool have suffered from defensive issues, with Dejan Lovren failing to live up to his £20million price-tag and Martin Skrtel making several errors.
With Swansea’s Wilfried Bony and Gylfi Sigurdson have been great form this season, Can will have to at be at his best to keep the Swansea attackers at bay when Liverpool face Swansea on Monday evening.
