Former Super Eagles defender Efetobore Sodje has stated that Newcastle United youngster, Sammy Ameobi is not ready for a crack in the colours of the Nigeria senior national side.
The younger brother of Shola Ameobi is still pondering on whether to commit his international future to Nigeria.
Sodje believes the tricky winger is still learning and not ripe enough for the African Champions.
“He’s part of the Newcastle United team, but I don’t think he’s ready to take up a regular place in the first eleven.
“He has done well on the few occasions he has been in the starting line up but he’s not in the top 10 of best Nigerian players right now because he’s yet to convince,” Sodje said.
Sammy burst on to the first-team scene at the end of the 2010/11 season, making his Newcastle United debut as a second-half substitute in the penultimate game of the season at Chelsea.
