Coach of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria Emmanuel Amuneke has revealed
to footballlive that time is against his team’s readiness for next
year’s Africa youth championship billed for Senegal.
The draws which was done over the weekend, pits Amuneke’s team
against host nation Niger, Guinea and junior chipolopolo of Zambia in
the CAF tournament.
“We don’t have Christmas; even if we will have, it won’t be more than
one day. We have to focus on the task ahead and unfortunately we don’t
have time on our side but we must put a lot of sacrifice in order to
achieve our goals”
The Golden Eaglets will start their tournament account with the host nation before they the face Guinea and then Zambia.
The Nigerian team has set their sights on a semi final finish at
least in order to qualify automatically for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup
in Chile.
The 2015 African U-17 Championship will be the 16th edition of the
competition for players aged 17 and below and organized by the
Confederation of African Football and will take place from 15th of February–1 March 2015.
