Brazilian striking jewel Alexandre Pato has arrived in London to complete his ‘dream’ move to struggling Premier League champions Chelsea.

Pato, 26, was received by officials at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday afternoon where he is expected to put finishing touches to his ‘dream’ move from Brazilian giants Corinthians.

Pato, who made his mark in European football as a teenager with Serie giants AC Milan, will sign a six-month deal with Chelsea, who will pay his wages – believed to be around £31,000 a week – for the duration of the loan spell.
“I’m here to make a dream come true,” he told ESPN Brasil upon arrival at Heathrow.
“Chelsea is my new home. I really want to play for them.”

Pato whose career took a dive after a series of niggling injuries, is keen to throw himself into life at Stamford Bridge, and says he will get up to speed quickly despite not having played since 28 November.

“I’m very happy… and very nervous. I want to meet my new team-mates so I can adapt as quickly as possible.

“Yes, it’s been a while without playing, but nothing that my new colleagues can’t help me with.”

The lively Brazilian impressed on loan at Sao Paulo last year, getting his career back on track after a difficult spell at Corinthians, who coughed out €15million to AC Milan for his services.

He will vie for a place in the Blues attack with Brazil-born Spain international Diego Costa, who has undergone a revival in recent weeks.

His arrival coincides with the surprise departure of compatriot Ramires, who has been snapped by Chinese club Jiangsu Suning for £25 million.
