Cristiano Ronaldo shows softer side by comforting a crying fan
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, recently shortlisted for the 2015 Ballon d’or alongside Barcelona duo Lionel Messi and Neymar, was captured in a rare moment of empathy with a fan.
The Portugal captain, famous for his self-aggrandizing tears, is seen comforting an overwhelmed fan who couldn’t hold back the emotions after he’d signed an autograph for the lad.
Walking through the Bilbao airport in the company of Croatian colleague Luka Modric, the three-time Ballon d’or winner stunned waiting fans by spending a little time in their company.
The youngster, obviously a Ronaldo devotee, couldn’t hold back his emotions as he had his jerseys and poster signed before receiving a hug from the football superstar.
After getting over the initial shock, the kid then brandished his autographed shirt as the former Manchester United winger continued to engage with other fans.
It was an unusual display of class from Ronaldo who has an arrogant persona on the pitch.
The 30-year-old, heavily linked with French giants Paris St Germain next summer, will need to up his game though as Real currently trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by six points.
