US Open champions will pocket a record $3.3million in September, after the United States Tennis Association (USTA) revealed a prize money hike.
The USTA boosted the overall prize pool across the five events to $42.3m - 10.5 per cent up on 2014 - with the singles champions to net $3.3m apiece.
Runners-up at Flushing Meadows will net a cool $1.6m, while first-round losers will pocket $39,500 - the second-highest of the majors, behind only Wimbledon (£29,000 or about $45,369).
However, the US Open winners' cheque dwarfs that of all other grand slams.
