Novak Djokovic‘s hopes of a first French Open were surprisingly thwarted as he lost toStan Wawrinka in the final of the 2015 French Open.
Wawrinka produced an amazing performance to win the world number 1 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4.
Djokovic headed into the final on a 28-match winning streak, but Wawrinka produced one of his greatest performances ever to win his second ever Grand Slam title.
Djokovic had been looking to join the highly elite group of Andre Agassi, Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Roger Federer, Rod Laver, Rafael Nadal and Fred Perry: the only men who had won all 4 Grand Slams, but the loss means he’d have to wait another year for a chance to join them.
