Turkish Club Boss Hires Crane To Watch Match After Stadium Ban

Hamit Isik, manager of Turkish club Corum Beledivespor, may well have set a new precedent after taking ways to define a stadium ban to new heights with this ingenious idea.

Angrily confronting a referee saw Isik, manager of Corum Beledivespor in Turkey, hit with a 285-day (that’s nine-and-a-half months) ban by the country’s Professional Football Disciplinary Board.


This meant the boss would not be able to oversee the opening leg of a crucial third division play-off fixture with Darcia Genclerbirligi.

So instead of watching the Match from the comfort of his home or a hotel room, Isik did the next best thing, as you do, and hired a crane.

This allowed the manager to watch the clash, from a platform, above one of the stands – so technically not in the stadium.

With a friend or colleague in tow, the pair witnessed a goalless draw, so probably didn’t need to go to such efforts, anyway.

Isik was one of the few people luckily enough to watch the match in person, because the game was played behind closed doors due to recent crowd disturbances.
