A member, Senate House committee on sport, Honourable Ayoade Adeseun has expressed confidence in the current board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), saying that the board has started on a sound footing.

Adeseun while speaking with Tribune sport on Monday though lamented Nigeria’s absence in the ongoing .
African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea, but added  he still has absolute confidence in the Amaju Pinnick-led board.
“Though many people saw the NFF as an avenue to siphon money and cash trap where there are available ready-made money to squander or share among themselves, but with the way the current board started, it is obvious that things will change for the better. We need to cleanse the place having realised that there are many people there who are corrupt. So we need a change and with the current board, I foresee a better football federation and brighter hope for the country’s football,” he said.

The federal lawmaker who is representing Oyo Central Senatorial district charged the football authorities to ensure that the Super Eagles bounce back to reckoning after the AFCON 2015 debacle adding that: “We must put in place all measures to avoid the repeat of our absence at the Nations Cup”.
He commended the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye for his effort at rebuilding the ministry by giving it a facelift.
Adeseun further assured that the NFF will enjoy the support of the house committee on sport in order to contribute to its development in its bid to empower the youth across the country.
