Former Bayelsa United striker Peter Ebimobowei had his first training session with new club Al Ahly of Egypt yesterday after concluding his three and half year move to the club on Sunday.
The striker who was a target for Dolphins of Port Harcourt before the African giants captured him revealed via twitter yesterday how excited he was after been among the players that were out their paces by Coach Juan Carlos Garrido.
“First training with Al Ahly went well, after scoring goals for Bayelsa United it’s time to do so for the famous Al Ahly” the player wrote.
Al Ahly last week captured the third highest scorer of the last season and committed him to a three and half years deal after coughing out US $100,000 to Bayelsa United, the only club he had played for before now.
But news filtered in from North Africa that Ebimobowei was rumoured to have signed for Dolphins before going ahead to seal another deal with the Egyptian giants which signaled another ‘Eduok’ situation.
The Port Harcourt club have now dispelled such assertion stating that they only wanted to sign the player on loan for next season to aid their sojourn in the CAF competition with goals but that they were yet to finish discussion with his former club, Bayelsa United when news got in that Ebimobowei had been snapped up by Al Ahly.
