South Africa’s Minister of Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula says there will be no shame if his side exit the Nations Cup at the Group stage.

Bafana Bafana must beat the Black Stars in their final Group C game against Ghana to stand any chance of qualifying for the quarter finals.

Shakes Mashaba’s team have succeeded in exciting many with their youthful and swift style of football but have been let down by their finishing.

The team is expected to suffer from the resurgence of the Black Stars who suffered a stuttering start to their campaign in Equatorial Guinea with an opening defeat to Senegal.

Mbalula insists even though the team is determined to cause a major upset by beating Ghana on Tuesday, there will be no major worries is the result turns out as expected – a win for Ghana.

“If we exit, we exit from the best,” Mbalula said.

“We are building a team for the future and we are happy with the progress we have made so far.

“We came here to win and to qualify, if we win [2015 AFCON] that would have been a bonus.

“We have learnt from our mistakes and look forward to building a stronger team.”
