Rickie Fowler is very much the golfer to look forward to in the 2015 season as the American made lot of ground and moved from 40th to the 10th in the official World Golf Ranking last year.
T h e 26-year-old came close to winning his maiden Major on home soil, finishing runner-up at the US Open and also secured a third-place at The Open. With an aggregate score of 1,108 in the four Majors, Flower was tied for the third-best combined score in Major championship history.
Fowler will be making his UAE debut by taking part in the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championships and was excited about the challenge and was keen to make a mark straight away.
Fowler said: “I have heard a lot of positive things about the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship so I decided to challenge myself and make the trip to the desert to kick-start my season. I have never played in the Middle East before but as a player, you always want to play against the best in the world so if the likes of Rory, Justin and Martin are going to be at the National Course, I want to be there too. The field is one of the strongest of the European Tour season and the list of past champions is really impressive so I will be doing my best to get my hands on that famous Falcon trophy”
