Juventus came unstuck against Napoli in the Supercopa Italia in what was a tale of the two Argentines, Higuain and Tevez. Despite Buffon Making three Saves in the Penalty Shootout, Napolit still triumphed 5-6 on penalties
In an evenly contested match, Juventus took the lead through Tevez in the 5th minute after a collision between Koulibaly and Albiol allowed the Argentine to get through on goal. Napoli struggled for a way back and saw Hamsik and Higuain hit the post. Napoli continued to create chances and were rewarded in the 67th minute as Higuain was on hand to guide De Guzman’s cross into the net.
The match went into extra time and in the 106th minute, Tevez struck the ball home from inside the box after great work by Pogba on the edge of the eighteen yard box. Napoli’s equalizer came through Higuain, who was first to react to Mertens blocked shot and fire the ball home in the 118th minute.
The match went into penalties and both sides missed their first kicks and the match went on to sudden death. Three consecutive misses saw the game tied at 5-5 before Koulibaly found the net and Paodin saw his spot kick saved to crown Napoli Super Cup Winners.
